Editing Our Music Video - Part 2

While finishing putting all the narrative shots of Hannah in to place on the music video, we then started putting the performance of Vincent into place, but because when we was filming this part of the video, the camera picked up the song to late and so it made it out of sync. We found this hard to edit together as we had to lip read what Vincent was saying and then put it into the correct place of the song, this took us longer to do as it was a little difficult to understand which part Vincent was singing. As the deadline for when the music had to be done was getting closer, Abigail and Grace decided to stay behind on some days to get it completed. As we was going along with putting the music video together we also added in many different effects to make the video look more professional and more standing out. We completed the video on Friday 28th January, 2011 which was the deadline. After completing the music video we then rendered it which makes it play more smoothly when watching it and then we exported, after doing that we put it on to a Pen Drive and put it on YouTube to see how many views we would get. Even though I didn’t really help with the editing, I still learned on how to use it and also how to add effects. This too will also help me in the future for it I ever need to edit any other videos that we will be doing.

Editing Our Music Video - Part 1

On the 16th December, 2010 as we had already captured the footage on to the computer Leanne then started editing our music video on Adobe Premier. We all started off with deciding which shots we thought would fit better with the beat of the music. After we chose the shots we started off creating the first part of the music video, when placing the shots in, we counted how many beats the song does until it starts the beat again. While doing this we got to put in many different shots that went in time with the beat of the song. We also dated which parts of the music video we were going to edit, this then changed as we got a new addition to the group Abigail Brown, because all of the job roles had already been completed all that was left was for her to help do the editing with Leanne, so we then decided to be in charge of editing with Leanne.

Filming Our Music Video Muse - Supermassive Black Hole

After our group completed the pre-production work, I then booked all the equipment that we will have needed to use, I booked X2 Sony HD Cameras along with X2 tripods, a microphone and stand, X2 red lights, colour gels and also booked the Studio which is in the college this is where the performance and narrative will take place, I had booked all of this for Tuesday 14th December, 2010.
When the date came for us to film our video me, Grace and Leanne went to the studio with the actors and actress that were appearing in our video. When we got to the studio  we then straight away got set up to start filming, as we was getting everything set up the acts went to go and get changed into their outfit for the video. The only props that we mainly used were a chair and a microphone and microphone stand.
We filmed two different parts in our video the performance and the narrative. The first part that we filmed was the Narrative scenes and then after we completed them, on the same day we started the performance scenes. We finished filming everything that we planned around 2:30pm. After we captured all the shots that we needed we then went up to the edit suite and captured our video on to a computer so that it was ready for editing.
During filming our music video, we used many different shots such as long shots, close ups, extreme close ups and also added some panning and tracking shots. Also other shots such as tilts up and tilt down. Everything had gone to plan with how we wanted our video to look. It was Vincent’s job to be the singer in the music video as well as do some of the acting for the narrative, it was Hannah’s job to also do some acting with Vincent. Hannah had to dance around Vincent and to make it look as though she was playing hard to get with him and Vincent had to just sit in the chair and act as though he is obsessed with Hannah.

My job role was being a camera operator, within this job I had learned how to use the camera a lot better than how I could use it before, this will also help me in the future of how to do more filming, my other job was also making sure that we got the correct lighting that we needed. Leanne’s job role was being the editor for when we finished filming but she also helped me with being a camera operator and Grace was both the producer and director of everything as her role was that she had to make sure that everything was looking right. We then had a new addition to the group Abigail Brown she first started off with being the cable basher and then she helped out with Leanne editing the music video Supermassive Black Hole.

College Tour Video

In todays lesson we went out in a group of 5 and we made a film which contains a tour around Pendleton College. The people that were in my group were Grace Morrow, Hannah Perselli, Leanne Whitby and Womble. In this video we filmed different location of the college, the location which we filmed were the main entrance, the coffee shop, the reception, art corridor, gym, canteen, performing arts studios, smoking area and the quad. We all had a turn in directing the tour but I done most of the directing and where as Grace, Hannah, Womble and Leanna were all the presenters, they was taking turns each in presenting different places. We used different shots such as mid shot, long shot and close ups. While doing this video I found out different places in the college which i never knew where they were.

Job Roles Video Project

For this project I am doing Media Job Roles Research, Script Writing and Piece to Camera.
The role that I chosen to do was TV animator, I searched on the internet different information on what a TV animator does, I then wrote down some points on what the most important things are that they do. I then had to write a script up which should last a minute long, I completed my script which lasts a minute. I then read my script to a friend to make sure that it all sounded correctly. After doing all of those things I then made a storyboard which is 13 shots long and cut my script into different sections so that with each shot I have a different camera instruction.
